Nourish and Shine (Biotin) Injection in Orlando

Nutrient Support for Hair, Skin and Nails

Biotin, also called vitamin B7, is a water-soluble vitamin that acts as a coenzyme for enzymes involved in fat, carbohydrate, and protein metabolism. It also participates in processes related to keratin and normal hair and nail structure.

Biotin injections are not a proven treatment for hair loss, skin aging, brittle nails, fatigue, or weight management in people with normal biotin status.

It may be purchased individually or offered through the Vitamin Shot Membership.

Key Ingredients and Nutrients

Biotin: Also called vitamin B7, biotin functions as a coenzyme for several enzymes involved in metabolism.

True biotin deficiency is uncommon in people eating a varied diet, though it occurs with certain genetic conditions, long-term antibiotic or anticonvulsant use, and in pregnancy.

What It May Help Support

Hair strength and appearance

Nail thickness and resistance to breaking

Skin condition

Normal metabolic function

Potential Benefits

Patients using biotin injections are generally looking for:

Less brittle nails

Healthier-looking hair

Improved skin texture

Evidence is strongest in people with a documented biotin deficiency. In people with normal biotin status, results are inconsistent, and hair loss caused by hormonal, thyroid, or iron issues may not improve unless the underlying cause is also diagnosed and treated.

Who May Be an Appropriate Candidate

Adults noticing changes in hair or nail quality, ideally after the more common causes have been considered. Thyroid disease, iron deficiency, hormonal change, rapid weight loss, and several medications all affect hair, and each is identifiable.

Biotin may not suit you if you have:

Upcoming blood work, for the reason described below

Pregnancy or breastfeeding, without provider guidance

Hair loss no one has looked into yet

Any past reaction to biotin given by injection

How Often It May Be Used

The schedule depends on the product, indication, baseline status, and clinician protocol, as no universal cosmetic schedule is established. Hair and nails grow slowly, so changes may take several months to appear. Membership covers four injections monthly. Single purchases are fine too.

Safety Considerations

Some FDA-approved parenteral multivitamin products contain biotin for specific medical settings, such as parenteral nutrition. However, that does not mean a standalone compounded biotin injection is FDA-approved for hair, skin, nails, or wellness.

Biotin also interferes with many laboratory blood tests. The FDA has issued safety communications on this. Affected tests include thyroid panels, hormone levels, vitamin D, and troponin, the test used to diagnose a heart attack. Falsely high or falsely low results can lead to a missed diagnosis or an unnecessary one.

Tell every provider and every laboratory that you take biotin.

You will usually be asked to stop it for a period before testing. This matters especially in an emergency room, where a falsely normal troponin could mask a heart attack.

Otherwise, biotin injections are generally well tolerated. Injection site soreness is the most common complaint.
