Epitalon in Orlando

A Peptide Associated With Longevity Claims

Epitalon, also spelled epithalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide commonly identified as Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, or AEDG. Researchers developed it from research on epithalamin, a pineal polypeptide complex. Epitalon and epithalamin are not the same substance and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Epitalon is not FDA-approved, and no FDA-approved product, indication, route, dose, or treatment schedule exists in the United States. It is often marketed for longevity, sleep, telomere maintenance, and anti-aging, but adequate human clinical trials have not established those claims.

How It Works

The proposed mechanism centers on telomeres, the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes that shorten as cells divide. Laboratory research has examined whether epitalon influences telomerase, the enzyme that maintains them.

Telomere length is associated with cellular aging, but it is not a validated standalone treatment target for extending human lifespan. Telomerase-related pathways are also relevant to many cancer cells. The long-term effects of altering these pathways in humans are unknown.

Potential Benefits

People may ask about epitalon in connection with:

Slowed cellular aging

Improved sleep and melatonin rhythm

Antioxidant effects

Extended lifespan

These are reasons for discussion and not FDA-approved indications. Blood pressure, blood glucose, sleep quality, muscle mass, physical activity, nutrition, and cardiovascular fitness have substantially stronger evidence for supporting healthy aging.

Who May Be an Appropriate Candidate

Longevity is a reasonable thing to care about and a difficult thing to buy. Blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep, muscle mass, and cardiovascular fitness have decades of evidence behind them, and none of it is speculative.

Epitalon is not advisable if any of these apply:

A current cancer diagnosis, or cancer in your history

Pregnancy or breastfeeding

A strong family history of cancer

Symptoms you have not yet had evaluated

How It Is Administered

Route

Products marketed as epitalon may be supplied as subcutaneous injections or as oral, nasal, or sublingual preparations. No route is FDA-approved, and the absorption, bioavailability, stability, sterility, and clinical equivalence of these preparations have not been established.

When

Evening dosing and course schedules are used in some commercial protocols but are not FDA-validated.

Who Does It

Self-administered after our team walks you through it.

How Often It May Be Used

Short courses, such as 10–20 days, appear in some commercial or historical protocols. These schedules are not FDA-approved or validated modern dosing standards. Any dose, timing, route, or duration a clinic uses is a product-specific investigational or compounded protocol.

Safety Considerations

No adequate long-term human safety study establishes epitalon’s adverse-effect profile. Because telomerase-related pathways may be relevant to both normal cell biology and malignant cells, the long-term effect of epitalon on premalignant or malignant cells is unknown. No human evidence has established that epitalon causes cancer, but current evidence is insufficient to rule out long-term risks.

Other considerations:

Immune response to the peptide

Impurities from peptide manufacturing

Product quality concerns, underscored by the 2026 warning letter

No characterized side effect profile

In July 2026, an FDA advisory panel recommended allowing epitalon in pharmacy compounding. The agency’s own scientific reviewers had advised against it, and no final determination has been issued. Report unexpected symptoms promptly. Seek emergency care for difficulty breathing, facial or throat swelling, widespread hives, severe dizziness, chest pain, or acute neurological symptoms.

Talk With Our Clinical Team

Our clinic requires current laboratory testing before considering an investigational or compounded peptide. Testing may help identify measurable health risks and treatable conditions, but it cannot establish that epitalon is safe or effective for longevity or any other use.

We will discuss what is known, what remains uncertain, and evidence-based approaches to healthy aging. Your discovery consultation is complimentary and does not commit you to any treatment.
