Medically Reviewed by Luis Martinez, MD

CJC-1295 and ipamorelin are two of the most popular growth hormone peptides, often paired together.

If you’re hoping to recover faster, sleep better, or feel more like yourself, our experienced peptide team will help you understand whether this combination fits your goals and find what’s really behind how you feel.

What Is It?

What Is CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin?

CJC-1295 and ipamorelin are two different peptides that both signal your pituitary gland to release growth hormone. They’re often prescribed together because each works through a different pathway.

Unlike taking growth hormone itself, these peptides prompt your body to release its own.

How It Works

How Does CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin Work?

CJC-1295 and ipamorelin are two different peptides that both signal your pituitary gland to release growth hormone. They’re often prescribed together because each works through a different pathway. Unlike taking growth hormone itself, these peptides prompt your body to release its own.

CJC-1295 mimics growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH), the natural signal that tells your pituitary gland to release growth hormone.

Ipamorelin works on a separate receptor (the ghrelin receptor) that also triggers growth hormone release.

The idea behind pairing them is that using two pathways may boost growth hormone release more than either alone. Ipamorelin was designed to be selective in early research. Whether the combination improves real-world results hasn’t been proven in human clinical trials yet, and we’ll always be upfront about that.

Potential Benefits

Reasons patients ask about this combination:

Recovery after training

Lean body composition

Sleep quality

Energy and general wellbeing

No adequate human clinical trial has established the safety or effectiveness of the CJC-1295/ipamorelin combination for recovery, body composition, sleep, energy, or general well-being. Growth hormone pathways also influence blood sugar, so you should consider the metabolic consequences alongside the hoped-for effects.

Who May Be An Appropriate Candidate

Your provider starts by identifying what is producing your symptoms. Sleep quality, testosterone or thyroid levels, training load, nutrition, and stress explain most of what patients hope this combination will address, and each is measurable.

Depending on what we find, your best next step might be [hormone therapy], [thyroid optimization], [sermorelin], or CJC-1295 + ipamorelin.

This combination should not be used if you have:

Active malignancy or unexplained masses

A pituitary tumor, or past surgery or radiation involving the pituitary gland

Pregnancy or breastfeeding

A drug-tested sport on your schedule. Growth hormone-releasing peptides are on the World Anti-Doping Agency's banned list

If you have diabetes or trouble controlling your blood sugar, you’ll need a careful evaluation and glucose monitoring before and during use.

How It Is Administered

Route

Subcutaneous injection, usually in the abdomen. Route and site are product-specific, and no FDA-approved route exists for the combination.

Who does it

You, at home, after our team demonstrates reconstitution and injection.

How Often It May Be Used

Nightly across a defined course, commonly five nights on and two off, rather than continuously. These schedules come from prescribing practice rather than dosing studies. Your provider sets both the duration and when you assess whether to continue.

Safety Considerations

Neither peptide nor the combination is FDA-approved. The FDA has identified concerns for each component beyond general compounding issues.

For CJC-1295, the agency has noted immune response, peptide impurities, increased heart rate, and systemic vasodilatory reactions. For ipamorelin acetate, it has noted immune response and impurity concerns.

Commonly reported effects include:

Water retention and swelling in the hands or feet

Joint aches or carpal tunnel type symptoms

Numbness or tingling

Flushing and headache

Rising blood sugar

Monitor blood glucose during use. Report a new or enlarging mass, persistent severe headache, vision changes, marked swelling, palpitations, or symptoms of high blood sugar right away. Our team is a text or call away.

We only work with licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies that test for sterility and potency, never online “research” peptides.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CJC-1295 + ipamorelin?

It’s a pairing of two peptides that each signal your pituitary gland to release your own growth hormone through two different pathways. They’re often prescribed together for that reason.

Patients most often ask about it for recovery, body composition, sleep, and energy. No adequate human clinical trial has proven those benefits for the combination, so your provider will talk with you honestly about what’s known, and whether another option should come first.

No. Neither peptide nor the combination is FDA-approved for any use.

Its status is in flux. In April 2026, the FDA removed CJC-1295 and ipamorelin from its list of restricted compounding substances, but it hasn’t yet added them to the list of substances approved for compounding. We follow these updates closely and will tell you where things stand at your visit.

Possible side effects include water retention or swelling, joint aches or carpal tunnel–type symptoms, numbness or tingling, flushing, headache, and rising blood sugar. That’s why we monitor your blood sugar and check in with you throughout treatment.

All three encourage your body to release its own growth hormone. Sermorelin works on the same pathway as CJC-1295 and has a longer track record. Your provider will help you decide which fits your goals and health history.

No. HGH is growth hormone itself. CJC-1295 and ipamorelin prompt your pituitary gland to release its own growth hormone instead.

As a small injection under the skin, usually in the abdomen. Our team will show you how to mix and inject it at home.

It varies from person to person, and there’s no established timeline from human research. Your provider sets a defined course with a check-in date to review how you’re doing.

If you compete in a drug-tested sport, no. Growth hormone–releasing peptides are on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s prohibited list.

We don’t recommend it. Peptides sold online as “research chemicals” often have no guarantee of purity, dose, or sterility, and the FDA has flagged impurity concerns with both. We only work with licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies that test for sterility and potency.

Your cost depends on your personalized plan. We’ll walk you through your options and pricing at your Discovery Consultation, before you commit to anything. We accept HSA cards and offer financing through Cherry.

Yes. We require baseline labs before prescribing any peptide, including blood sugar. Your labs guide the conversation; they don’t make the decision on their own.
