Yes, you can lose weight by optimizing your hormones and increasing growth hormone.
It sounds too good to be true, right? But it’s not, obese individuals are known to have low levels of growth hormone. Growth hormone reduces obesity due to its fat breakdown promotion known as lipolysis. Since GH reduces the uptake of free fatty acids (FFA) by adipocytes (fat storage cells), it inhibits the buildup of triglycerides in fatty tissue. The presence of high circulating free fatty acids reduces the release of GH by the pituitary. This is exactly why healthy lifestyle and diet are so important. The elevation of FFA in obese individuals (due to greater fatty tissue mass) may be partially responsible for the lower levels of GH seen in obese patients.
Many other studies have reported that GH is effective in reducing fat mass, especially visceral fat. Visceral fat is the most dangerous type of fat we carry. Those clinical studies were performed on adults with GH deficiency due to pituitary disease, or low levels of GH associated with obesity in the absence of pituitary disease. One review found that GH replacement with or without diet and exercise interventions effectively reduces visceral adipose tissue and improves lipid abnormalities in GH deficient adults.
Through a simple blood test we can see if your growth hormone levels are lacking. If they are, growth hormone treatment for body fat reduction is an option.
